Toxic Relationships

img_1071One huge step towards wellness is to eliminate the toxic people in your life. THe people that drain your energy, ask
too much, and don’t support your success.

The only way to be truly happy is to get those people out of your life. To have fullfilling, supportive and fun relationships.]
They may be based on a common interest, or simply a common respect. That person supports you, respects you, and lifts
you up. It can be a friendship or romantic relationship. The point is, that person has to respect you. Respect is

I have had many toxic people in my life. People who posed as my friend, asked me out, then emotionally abused me, put me
down. Some of those people stole from me, and worse. I kept them as friends, because I needed attention, and someone to
go out with. But these people are not worth it! I spent countless years on boyfriends who brought me down, influenced
negative habits, and were not supportive emotionally. I felt like I had to stay with that person, because I needed
companionship, I was scared to be alone, etc. But in truth, I would have been better off alone. It would have given me
a chance to work on my life, work on school, and meet someone who DID support me.

The value of a supportive network in your life is immense. Your parents, siblings, family, also good friends that have similar
interests. Also, the independence you can gain from being on your own,
doing whatever you want, and having no one judge you is so important. It took me many years to realize this, but instead
of going out with those toxic people, i choose to be alone, and make myself happy. I stay home and spend time with my cat.
This may sound boring but it is liberating to be able to choose for yourself what you want to do. Supporting yourself,
practicing self care, working on your character. It is so fullfilling to be with a small animal that loves you. Or
to have conversations with those who support you.

Let yourself find those things that make you happy. You may learn an instrument, gain a new hobby or try a new workout.
Let yourself become better.
