In April of 2019, I began studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. It was the beginning of my health journey. Before that, because of traumatic experiences, I coped with my anxiety by drinking. I called the school many times to get more information but in 2019, I finally signed up. I immediately became immersed in the lectures, and loved the beautiful, colourful pictures. I waited week after week for the new modules. I did not finish at this school, because of other reasons, but I have taken the knowledge I’ve learned so far and applied it to my life. I do plan to finish in the future.
Some changes I’ve made as a result of studying at this school: limiting drinking, eating way more nutritious whole foods, flavouring my meals with spices, drinking more water, starting the day with delicious smoothies, meditating, biking a lot, joining a hiking group, more yoga, creating recipes and enjoying life.
I have seen how beneficial it is to live a healthy life. I am still working on my health, as well as a career, but I wanted to share how this school has helped me so far.
On days that I am stressed out, I recognize the importance of including fruits and vegetables into healthy meals. Meditation has also been a valuable tool for self care.
